Hola amigos!

Tenemos el placer de anunciar que ha aparecido una reseña sobre nuestro trabajo, 17, en una web italiana especializada en música. Como está escrita en italiano, la he traducido para que todos la podáis entender. Ahí va!

«Un sutil folk sin preocupaciones que se une con la psicodelia, así nace el tercer álbum producido en coautoría por Gemma Pedrós y Vincent Roca, un largo camino juntos que hace sonar la musicalidad vocal de Gemma. Un sonido abierto a la emoción del momento, calibrando la composición con la voz celestial de la fantàstica intérprete hispànica, no lejana del mundo de hadas de Priscilla Hernández.

Por los colores solares de la voz etérea, pero bien arraigada en el pop-rock, en parte recuerda a aquella antigua banda de Keith Mitchell, por algunas incursiones psicodélicas de las canciones.

Refinado, el sonido de Ópal oscila entre baladas introspectivas y aperturas líricas melancólicas: un avión que llega a las playas portuguesas de Lisboa con toda la carga de melancolía que se encuentra viajando a través de las tierras de España, obviamente la guitarra es protagonista, siempre.

Hay mucho sol entre los temas, un sol que se encuentra con la esencia lunar del canto de Gemma: entre las canciones, la danza claro/oscura es sensible en los tonos. “Still life” tiene fuertes ondas que maduran delicadamente con los tonos, al principio la guitarra es una caricia sobre las notas de la voz, creciendo juntas con brio romántico, incrementado en “Padmini”, en su introspectión, sus colores tenues, a veces también apasionados, de Gemma, con gran carácter entre los ritmos de “Padre”, un toque de poesía sin miedo de abrirse al mundo, para estar en el mundo con su música, a través de sus intensas rimas.

“17” es un álbum para escuchar en el camino, un auténtico disco de viaje, mejor en el atardecer de la ardiente primavera, cuando el sol lentamente se adormece acariciando los campos con reflejos dorados, las casas dispersas de una vida bucólica que existe y tiene su voz entre las canciones de este par de músicos capaces de dar profundidad al mínimo sentido de la vida, a su pequeña dignidad.

Una voz y sus colores, una guitarra con arreglos delicados, estos sonidos de Ópal tienen el nombre y los matices de una joya que del sol es hija legítima.»

We are pleased to announce that it has appeared a review about our album, 17, in an Italian website specialized in music. As it’s is written in Italian, I have translated it. Here it goes!

«A subtle carefree folk that meets psychedelia, thus is born the third album produced in coauthory by Gemma Pedros and Vincent Roca, a long way together that makes sound Gemma’s vocal musicality. A sound open to the emotion of the moment, calibrating the composition with the heavenly voice of the great Hispanic interpreter, not far from the fairy world of Priscilla Hernandez.

For the solar colors of the ethereal voice, but firmly rooted in the pop-rock, in part reminds of that old Keith Mitchell’s band, for some psychedelic  inroads of the songs.

Refined, the sound of Opal, ranges between introspective  ballads and melancholic lyrical overtures: a plane that arrives at the Portuguese beaches of Lisbon, with all the burden of melancholy that is traveling through the lands of Spain, obviously the guitar is protagonist, always .

There is plenty of sunshine among the tunes, a sun that finds the Moon essence of Gemma’s singing: between the songs, the dance light / dark  is sensitive in the tones. «Still life» has strong waves that mature delicately with the tones, at first the guitar is a caress on the notes of the voice, growing together with romantic exuberance, increased in «Padmini» in its introspection, its soft colors, sometimes also passionates, of Gemma, with great character between the rhythms of «Padre», a touch of poetry without fear of opening up to the world, to be in the world with their music, through their intense rhymes.

“17” is an album to be listened on the way, an authentic journey record, best in the hot spring sunset, when the sun slowly dozes off, stroking the fields with golden highlights, the scattered houses of a bucolic life that exists and has its voice between the songs of this pair of musicians capables of giving depth to the minimum meaning of life, to its little dignity.

A voice and its colors, a guitar and its delicate arrangements, these Opal’s sounds have the name and the nuances of a jewel that is the legitimate daughter of the sun.»
